We have just managed to send out a few system emails with links pointing to example.com rather that nokahuna.com. If you have received one of those please ignore – A second email with the proper link has been sent. Sorry for the confusion!

(We are currently hardening our email system against some overzealous spam filters to make sure everybody gets their notifications!)

Little Locks!

No Kahuna now clearly indicates if a project is public or private. Watch out for the little locks in the project switcher and elsewhere.

What is the difference? If you make a Project public everybody can see it and registered users can comment on tasks and even create new ones (for a default user you get to set). This is great for sharing your work and to collect input from others!

If you or your company can afford working in public try it! Knowing that others can read your tasks often helps focusing on the stuff that really matters.

A better Tasks Tab

The Tasks tab now remembers your personal context. So when you click it you will go back to whatever category you have been looking at last. This should help greatly when you go back and forth between different tasks. It also means you can browse tasks in a way that works for you rather that having to negotiate a default category with your team.

Small caveat: There was a small bug that has been fixed since. If you have trouble accessing the Tasks tab log out and back in once and it will work again.

Nokahuna.de is live

We have just released the brand new German version of No Kahuna. You can switch langue with the new language selector (top right of the interface) or use the new German domain nokahuna.de.

Please note that the interface language is set per user. That means you can use it in English while collaborating with team members who use the German version. Give it a try – Viel Spass damit!

No Kahuna International

We have been busily working away on things small and big. One of the bigger ones in the pipe is No Kahuna International. Yep – we are going to provide No Kahuna in your language. If your language happens to be German that is. We are translating the last bits and pieces right now. Why German? Because we have a native speaker on the team. So it is not just the site but support and everything else, too.

And we are going for a rather clever localization where you can seamlessly work accross borders with each Team member using their own interface language. It is up to you to agree a language for your tasks, though.

Categories can be a drag

The next time you need to re-categorize some of the tasks in one of your projects, you’ll be pleased to see that you can now drag tasks into other categories. This eliminates the step of having to click on a task before you can re-categorize.

We’re thrilled to now have a custom UI specifically designed for the iPhone. Access No Kahuna like you normally would using http://nokahuna.com. The site is now smart enough to know where you’re browsing from so it can give you beautiful pages like the following:

We do roll out quite noticeable features all the time. But then there are also those tiny changes that go mostly unnoticed. The sum of those really makes a big difference – a difference you often can’t quite put your finger on. They really move No Kahuna forward more than anything.

Like the read out of the open tasks for every project right from your overview. A tiny change saving a ton of clicks. Or how we are now showing user profile pictures on the project info page rather than just a number. Makes a project instantly more transparent – especially great for public projects like The Connected Republic for example. Or that you can now create a new project right from the Project Switcher on the top-left, etc…

The list goes on and on and is ever growing. So watch out for those subtle changes!

Hardware Upgrade
